For this project I worked with the typical Portuguese manufacturing materials, cork and ceramic. Portugal is first in the world for cork production. This is the reason why cork is strongly linked with the local culture. The other important material for Portuguese economy is ceramic. Starting from this premise, I considered the traditional use and the features of these two materials in order to develop an object for the Portuguese market.
As a matter of fact, meal is an important moment to share and enjoy in Portuguese life style . Therefore, I developed a container that can be useful in carrying typical warm winter-food.
Winter in Portugal is never too harsh and it is possible to enjoy outdoor life even during colder days, why don’t do it with a picnic? The inspiration of this project comes from the typical cork food container that was used by the Antelejo farmers to carry the meal during the work in the fields.
Material: recomposed cork, white ceramic.
