N-cromatic
This chair was design during my Master Thesis at HDK. The project aim was to valorise the natural fibers produced from NWFP (no wood forest product) in Jawa island Indonesia. The name, N-cromatic , refers to the beauty of the various natural colours that these fibers have, colours that differ according to the origin of the material. For this chair, it has been used banana bark rope for the back, and pandanus leaf rope for the sitting. These fibers are woven around a metal frame according to the traditional basketry manufacturing of Yogyakarta. Material: banana bark rope, pandanus lifes rope, black coated steel pipe.
