“Super Book” is one of the most widespread beer brand in Portugal. Since Portuguese people are really attached to this beer, I started to wonder how to communicate its Portuguese character. I realized an innovative and allegoric object to catch a characteristic aspect of the Portuguese style. When people think about Portugal, they think about its buildings covered by white and blue ceramic tiles, the Azulejos.
The idea was to transfer the traditional craft technique of Azulejos to beer bottles for a special edition. Instead of glass, the bottles are made up of ceramic on which, instead of a label, the logo is printed with cooper oxide. This special beer edition could be an iconic object in Portuguese pop culture and a great advertisement for „Super Book”.
